Crostini con Prosciutto e Tartufo
     Truffle and ham on toast

1 truffle (1 oz) or 1/2 tbsp truffle cream

1/4 lb ham

4 square slices of white bread

1 tbsp butter

1 tbsp Parmesan cheese, grated


Lightly butter each slice of bread and place in a medium oven for a few minutes until golden.
     Mince the ham and spread it on the bread. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Melt the rest of the butter and pour it on top. Return the crostini to the oven for a few minutes. Arrange on a serving dish, cover with thinly sliced truffle, and sprinkle with pepper.
     If you use truffle cream instead of the fresh truffle, spread it on the buttered, toasted bread before adding the ham.
